Our own specially designed and weighted ball
The specially designed (size 2) Futebol de Salão ball we use, as well as small playing area we train in, are the factors which have the biggest influence on the development of each child's technical skills: quick feet, creative passing, intelligent movement, dribbling, recovering the ball and keeping it from the opponent.
Development of technical skills
We teach children to make quick decisions and control the ball with ease. During our training sessions we develop and work on 200+ individual skills divided into 7 main categories.
Sessions
Coaching sessions at BSS are adjusted to suit the different age group of each individual player. Each standard session is divided into three sections: individual exercises with the ball, working in pairs to perform and assess exercises and finally gameplay. Sessions and games are intense, with limited breaks.
Sporting Culture
Children learn to perform as a team or in small groups and how to follow fair play rules on the pitch. During sessions children learn co-operation and respect for opponents. They also meet other children passionate about the game of football and make new friends for life.
Individual approach
We approach each player individually. We look at the strong points and skills of each young player, we get to know them and their character type and deliver a tailored training solution for each child.
Tracking progress
Our unique Skills Badge Scheme is a unified grading system, which measures each player’s skill level across the 7 main categories of development. We perform regular tests, which creates a history of each player's progress.
Structured programme
In the early years of development, we focus on the individual with small sided exercises and games. The FDS ball provides the best skill building environment for 11-a-side football. As players grow older the focus is still very much on technical development alongside a far greater emphasis on physical and mental training, game play and tactical training.
Further development
We provide our players with numerous pathways to develop further – it is up to them to choose which path they take. We have had players progress to the professional game, football freestyling arena or equally just continue to play recreationally.
